Dreamy Green Healthier “Ice Cream”

Lately for some reason salads have become unpalatable and I seem to be craving a lot of chocolate, cheese, wine & sweets…!  I still aim to get all those super healthy greens into my day so I concocted two versions of “ice cream” one with chocolate mint and the other, green coconut.  I feel so virtuous!  My versions are nut-free and feel like you are actually getting in your greens in a pretty healthy way.  This picture is from GLiving.com (a great resource for healthier treats!)  and it is more of a dessert for sure :).

Chocolate Minty Ice Cream

Process in your mini cuisinart:

1 handful of fresh mint

1-2 large handfuls of fresh organic greens of choice (for extra green, throw in 1-2 chlorella tablets)

1 cup of ice

1 /2-1  frozen banana

1/2 cup frozen organic blueberries

1 tablespoon raw cacao powder (and some nibs if you have them around)

1 tablespoon hemp seeds

stevia powder (sub: medjool dates or maple syrup) to desired sweetness.  pinch of celtic sea salt & cinnamon.

splash of coconut or almond milk + squeeze of fresh lemon

ENJOY & feel energized :).

Green Coconut Ice Cream

Process in your mini cuisinart

1/2-1 frozen banana

1/4 avocado

large handful of fresh organic greens

1 tablespoon dry unsweetened coconut flakes

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or scraped vanilla pod)

1 cup ice cubes

Coconut water (with pulp) + squeeze of fresh lime.  enough to blend.
